Lawnscience Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most frequently asked questions.

  • My lawn is beyond help, can you really make a difference?

Definitely. Homeowners are constantly amazed to see what they thought was a lawn beyond saving, to be transformed into a beautiful lawn to be proud of.

  • How can you manage to treat my lawn for not much more than it would cost me?

Simple, we buy the very best commercial products in massive volumes, therefore, driving down the purchase price and we use the best commercial equipment which improves our efficiency.

  • What is the best time of year to start a Lawn Care Program?

Throughout the year there are perfect opportunities to carry out treatments to improve a lawn condition. So there is never a bad time to start to improve your lawn.

  • What difference will I notice and when?

Depending on the treatment you start with, the effect will differ, but in most cases, you will see an improvement in as little as ten days. You will see a reduction in weed growth and an improvement in the colour of your grass.

  • Are your treatments safe for children and pets?

We do ask that you keep children and pets off the lawn until the herbicide has dried – this takes approximately 1–2 hours depending on climatic conditions. You will also benefit by not having to keep concentrated weed killers have used, in your shed or garage.

  • I currently have a gardener, can you work with my gardener to improve my lawn?

Many of our current customers have gardeners and most of them do not have the qualifications to apply the products we use nor the specialised machinery required for certain tasks, we are quite happy to work with your gardener to improve your lawn.

  • Why do I need a Lawn treatment service, can’t I just buy the products myself?

A professional Lawn Treatment company will use professional quality products that are simply not available to the general public, these products are the same as those used on premier golf courses throughout the UK.

  • I work during the week, how can we manage your visits?

Most of our current customers work. By prior arrangement, as long as we can get access to your lawn, we can apply the treatments and leave an invoice for you to deal with on your return.

  • Do I have to water in the treatments after application?

No, our products do not require watering in. However, in dry periods your lawn will benefit from regular irrigation

  • How can I be sure that your operatives are trained?

In order to apply commercial herbicides, all operatives need to be trained to a level stipulated by the National Proficiency Training Council. As well as this mandatory training our operatives are also trained in all aspects of lawn care in order that they can advise you of any issues that are present in your lawn.

  • Will I have to sign a contract?

No, we know you will be delighted with your weed free, beautiful lawn. Most of our customers continue with our service from year to year and many recommend our service to family and friends.

  • How do I pay?

We accept payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
